Does the viral tarte under eye corrector actually work? I Tried it and here's what I think of it.

If you have opened Instagram or TikTok lately, you have seen it. Every other video is someone dabbing Tarte under eye corrector beneath their eyes and gasping at the camera. The before and after shots are dramatic, the captions are in all caps, and the comments are full of people saying "I need this." I was skeptical. I'm a mom, which means my under eyes have seen things. Between a full time job, creating content on the side, and a to do list that never ends, I have tried a lot of concealers that promised to fix my tired look but delivered a creased mess by noon. So, like many of you I wanted to know: is this actually worth the hype?
Why everyone is talking about it?
Part of the buzz comes down to how color correcting works. Dark circles often have a blue, purple, or brown tone, and a peachy or orange toned corrector cancels that out before concealer goes on top. Instead of piling on layers of coverage, you neutralize the darkness first. That is why the results look so striking on camera. The other part is simple social media momentum. Once a few big creators posted it, the algorithm did the rest. But viral does not always mean it works in real life, so I put it to the test.

How I tested it.
I tried it the way most of us actually live: no ring light, no professional lighting, just a regular workday morning and my regular routine. I purchased the color light-medium peach and found that it was the exact color that I needed.
Skin prep: I always start with my go to Kiehl's avocado eye treatment. I let it sit for about a minute then I apply a moisturizer with sunscreen. I do not leave the house without sunscreen!
Application: I decided to apply it before my foundation. I used the tarte concealer paw brush to apply it. I barley tapped it in the product then began applying it under my eyes. I was careful not to use too much because I was worried that it would cake up. After a few days of using it, I noticed that it doesn't get cakey if you use too much. It's actually pretty forgiving. I think it's a great beginner product.
Wear time: I've tried alot of different concealers over the years so I was surprised that this one made it through the whole workday. It held up and didn't cake or smear.
What I did not love.
This product has multiple prices across different sites. I found that some gave you the paw brush for free and others have it listed as a separate purchase. Not a huge deal but I think the paw brush should be packaged with it. I think it makes it much easier to apply.
Who should try it.
If you deal with dark circles and want a quick fix that does not require a full face of makeup this is worth a look, especially if your mornings are tight. If you have very dry or textured under eyes, you may want to add Kiehl's to your routine. It's a real game changer.

The Verdict.
Does it live up to the hype? I would say, yes. It covered my dark under eyes and somehow made me look like someone who got eight hours of sleep. It lasted all day and never caked up or settled in my fine lines.
